I love to start a project. I love to plan and brainstorm and get excited about starting something new. And I always have grand plans to continue on with whatever project I become infatuated with.
Journaling is something that I’ve been thinking about for a long time. Studies tout the benefits of getting your thoughts out of your head and I’ve always been terrible at journaling. I’ve tried to keep journals before, always to fall away from writing within about 3 days. Grand ambitions and love of projects aside, the idea of being intentional about writing more often is appealing to me.
Thus, a new experiment, working towards creating a habit. I’ve spent about 10 minutes tonight compiling writing prompts that I’m actually interested in exploring. Ideas about favorite places and moments, quotes about art and friends, music that comforts you, and movies that never get old. I hope to spend a minimum of 15 minutes, 3 days a week, writing about whatever feels right, and pushing “publish” at the end of the day. Cross your finger for me, and I’ll do my best to be honest and open.
